The Journal of a Life Coach: Post #2
Updated: Apr 14, 2021

June 28th, 2020
I DID IT!!!!! I signed up to get certified!!!
This is from the first e-mail she sent out:
In the meantime, I would suggest taking 10-15 minutes now to get crystal clear on the big vision you have for your business over the next year - the income you want to make, the impact you want to have and the lifestyle you want to create.
I find it's useful to write down your goals with exact dates you want to be reaching them by and exactly what you are going to do to celebrate once you hit them.
It's super important to celebrate every milestone along the way!
It’s nearly July and I’d like to be up and running as of December 2020. I’d like to take on paying clients before I finish the program and I want to build a little community on socials (500 people). I want to create a program that truly helps people and provide 1:1 sessions that initiate real personal growth and change. I’d like to hit a 10k month within 6 months of running my business because that will be a great indicator of the impact I’m making. I want to feel confident to call myself a life coach and feel like I have transformed overall. Within a year I’d love to be doing coaching full time but I'm open to what might happen. I want to create a lifestyle where I’m very excited to work on myself and help others work on themselves every single day.
By December I will have a small business up and running, thoroughly enjoying what I’ve built.
By December I will have paid off Mike’s loan as well as replenish my bank accounts to what they are today.
This year I will hire a photographer to get professional photos of me for my website and socials.
By June 2021 I will celebrate my first 10k month. When I hit this milestone, I will buy
I will eventually save enough for a down payment on a house with some of the money this new business has brought me.
When I fully qualify, I will go to the spa for a treatment!!!!

Oh myyyy how fascinating I wrote all that! Here's how it went:
It’s nearly July and I’d like to be up and running as of December 2020. I did this!
I’d like to take on paying clients before I finish the program and I want to build a little community on socials (500 people). I sure did! I actually got to 500 IG followers within 6 weeks & had my first paid client in October, certified in November :)
I want to create a program that truly helps people and provide 1:1 sessions that initiate real personal growth and change. So far, that's what they're telling me!!!
I want to feel confident to call myself a life coach and feel like I have transformed overall. Hell yes I do and I sure have.
Within a year I’d love to be doing coaching full time but I'm open to what might happen. Very curious about this one still!! I'm working to make that happen!
I want to create a lifestyle where I’m very excited to work on myself and help others work on themselves every single day. I would say I am doing exactly that!!
By December I will have paid off Mike’s loan (my husband "loaned" me the money to do it but basically that meant taking from one of our accounts, I tried to see it as a loan so I'd be motivated to pay it back) as well as replenish my bank accounts to what they are today. I did pay off the loan but invested in a high ticket coach immediately so still replenishing!!
This year I will hire a photographer to get professional photos of me for my website and socials. This one I got crazy lucky with & won a contest by a photographer on IG, the photo above was taken by her. (if you're in Toronto & looking for a photographer she's amazing & at https://www.esztercabralphotography.com/)
By June 2021 I will celebrate my first 10k month. When I hit this milestone, I will buy (lol I didn't come back to this!! I often do this with journaling but seeing as I haven't reached June yet...I'll finish the sentence here: I will probably use it for more mentorship which really excites me!). I have not yet hit 10k in a month. Working on it!!
I will eventually save enough for a down payment on a house with some of the money this new business has brought me. Literally every penny I've made so far is going back into my business for now so not yet for this one! Saving using my 9-5 income though. I used to see it quite differently in terms of the realities of starting up a business & how much you actually take home in the first year vs what you put back into the business so I wouldn't even include this if I were to write a new list.
When I fully qualify, I will go to the spa for a treatment!!!! So I actually had to look this up because I couldn't remember but I had gone a couple of weeks before I got the certificate so kind of? Haha I remember going for a massage at some point in the fall and used it as a treat for my hard work!
I hope you found that insightful!! If you're on your own journey of becoming a coach, it may look completely different for you & that is totally OK. Please don't fall into the trap of comparison, there is sooo much more context behind anyone's "results" that you can't possibly know from what they put online. Everyone's journey is so different but I always looove hearing about people's personal growth/business journeys and this has been one of the biggest ones of my life so I hope you enjoyed reading!
